The move from its previous premises in Wilbart, Germiston has happened when the company's business strategy, driven by innovative products, excellent customer service and on-going commitment to the metalworking engineering field, is reaping significant dividends in terms of market growth.
The new warehouse and showroom complete with training facilities, spare parts and service department occupies an area under roof of approximately 1850 m2.
The two 50-meter long bays in the warehouse are each equipped with a 16-ton Demag overhead traveling crane, for ease of handling the movement of Mazak CNC machines.
A separate Office building of 500m2, houses the administration and sales personnel.
Hi-Tech Machine Tools was founded in 1989, and supplied various makes of CNC machine tools.
MD Peter Killian, was previously involved with the Mazak agency, and had been employed by Mazak Japan.
In 1999, Mazak Japan appointed Hi-Tech Machine Tools to sell their well-known CNC equipment in South and Southern Africa, excluding Eastern and Western Cape.

In 2005 Hi-Tech Machine Tools was appointed as the Exclusive agent for Yamazaki Mazak for South and Southern Africa.
This new facility for Hi-Tech, marks not only a physical growth in the company but mirrors other developments within Hi-Tech Machine Tools to keep pace with demand.
"With a growing order book and the need to have further space for investment in high technology multi-axis mill/turn and machining centres that we can use to train our customers on, our move became a necessity" MD Peter Killian said."
"With the modern technology machines advancing at a rapid pace we have found the need to train our customer's operators on the machines before we deliver their particular one to their factory. This is why we have invested in a number of machines that we can now utilise to train customers staff in the correct usage of the modern technology beforehand."
"It is our intention to set up an apprentice training facility as well, and over the last three years we have been hard at work getting our courses MERSETA recognised so that we can become an official trainer."
"Back in 1966, I was lucky enough to be able to start my Fitting and Turning apprenticeship at East Rand Engineering, where I was properly trained. And for that reason I would like to give something back to the industry that has been so good to me.
We will be offering three years courses, so at the end of the term, our trained apprentices will be able to have all the theory as well as the practical knowledge of working on modern CNC equipment."
"In 1971, I joined H.R. Lasch Crane Company, and was the NC programmer for Lasch's first VDF NC controlled turning machine that they imported into this country, for machining crane parts.
At 22 years of age I was sent for intensive NC training at the VDF NC lathe builders works in Germany, so I realise how important it is for the industry to have highly skilled operators, especially as there is such a shortage at the moment."
