A New Dimension
The VERSATECH V-100N and V-140N, multiple-surface 5-axis double column machining centers, are designed to provide unsurpassed productivity in the machining of very large workpieces thanks to the spindle head that can position to the vertical and horizontal position and any angle in between.
Spindle
The headstock features an integral spindle/motor with an output of AC 36kW (50 HP), maximum torque of 344 NEm (253.7 ftElbs) and top speed of 10000 rpm designed for a wide range of applications - from heavy-duty cutting at low speed to high speed cutting of aluminum and other nonferrous materials.
Wide Y-Axis Stroke for Side Face Machining of Large Workpieces
The Versatech 100N has pallet table sizes of 2100 x 3000 mm (82.68h x 118.11h), 2100 x 4000 mm (82.68h x 157.48h) and 2100 x 5000 mm (82.68h x 196.85h) with a wide Y-axis stroke of 3600 mm (141.73g). The 140N has pallet table size of 3100 x 6000 mm (122.05h x 236.22h) and 3100 x 10000 mm (122.05h x 393.70h) with a Y-axis stroke of 4600 mm (181.10h). Thanks to these wide Y-axis strokes, side face machining with short projection facemills and drilling and tapping with maximum tool length of 400 mm (15.75h) can be performed with the spindle in the horizontal position. Additionally, the NC controlled W-axis, allows the cross rail to be easily positioned so that the minimum tool length can be used.
High Speed, High Accuracy
The VERSATECH series features movable servomotors directly mounted to the ball screw nuts for the X-, and Y- axe. In addition, the Z-axis features linear guides and twin ball screws for high response. Thanks to these design features, a high speed rapid traverse rate of 30 m/min (1181 IPM) and considerably higher circular interpolation accuracy are realized.
Multiple-Surface, 5-Axis Machining Spindle Head
High speed, high accuracy positioning (B-axis: 0.8 sec. / 90‹, C-axis: 1.0 sec. / 90‹) with minimum program increments of 0.0001 degree can be realized thanks to the direct drive motors. In addition, since no head change is required to go from a vertical position to horizontal position, a considerable reduction of non-cutting time can be realized.
